BRIEF: Create a logo for the reactivated Peace and Conflict Studies Society at the University of Waterloo, and incorporate concepts of peace without using symbolism like doves or olive branches.
PROCESS: I began by deciding on the central symbol for the logo which would be a peace hand - this would convey a youthfulness for the group. I chose a ribbon banner to place the title text on, and mostly soft colours to continue to express peace. Through the hand, I wanted to represent togetherness, diversity, and global leadership. I designed them in a variation of polygonal design, trending more towards mosaic, and then coloured each finger in a different tone. In the process of creating this piece, I continually checked in with the group to make sure it fit their needs and wants.
